Sis Polatis and Sis Hamaker:

We dressed up to pass out candy but no kids came to the door so we made our own fun. Galeena dressed up too.

Cruisin'

Fall Foliage tour on sternwheeler riverboat: Locking through the hand-operated Devola dam near my house:
My deck & house seen from the Muskingum River:
Valley Gem sternwheeler:
My favorite time of the year. I finally took a fall foliage tour on the river--beautiful clear fall day, the leaves were brilliant color, the sun was out, and a very relaxing ride. Best of all, we went past my house.

Hot diggity dog

For Sam's Halloween costume, made a tail, mitts and doggy hood. Lizzy is dressing up like her American Girl doll, Kit so she wanted Sam to be Kit's doggy.

Again...

Now a sprained ankle. The pic shows swelling down and bruise is gone but still sore to hobble on. Add this injury to my growing list: fractured tailbone, broken toe, multiple cuts and burns. I'm just an accident waiting to happen these last six months.

Grandparents Day

Alec's second grade class: Reading his original story about life in the future:
Traci volunteers at the school:

What fun we had together! Alec read me a book, we played games, the class recited a poem, Alec read his story, pictures were taken and we ate lunch together. Lots of work involved for the planners but it was so worth it; grandparents all appreciated the day.

Visiting

Taking a picture of Katie taking a picture of cream cheese pumpkin muffins for her cookbook: Katie & Spider Queen Laura:
Blowing out the candle on Grandma's birthday cake:

Spur of the moment trip because I missed the kids. We had a fun time. The trip was nice, too--leaves are turning beautiful colors.

Games

Oops. Tilt your head to see this picture of Benton & Spencer sliding down the hall on furniture movers.

Time to put on our makeup

Laura likes to put on makeup.

More cookies with Laura

After "cleaning up" the yellow sugar sprinklies from the table:
How Laura creatively "cleaned up" the yellow sprinkles from the table:
Grandma & Laura making cookies:
Using plenty of sprinkles makes the best cookies:

There was cookie dough leftover from mine & Julia's baking session so I took the remainder to Katie's. Spencer only wanted to eat cookie dough and Benton only wanted to eat the finished product so Laura and I baked all the cookies.

Baking cookies with Julia

We made my favorite sugar cookie recipe and cut out leaves, pumpkins, turkeys, bats, etc. It was fun and messy.

My Happy Birthday

Laura sent me a picture she drew. The pictures at the bottom are "grandma" and "laura" with a heart in between. Also check out the pizza.

It's autumn time

My neighbors up and down the river are pulling out their docks and winterizing their boats. Yesterday, Marietta High School crew team was on the river with 5 shells and 2 motorboats. Right in front of my dock. Girls team & boys team. The little fellow in the back seemed to be doing most of the work. Today there were several kayaks. Beautiful clear days, cool and sunny; the leaves haven't changed color yet.

All dressed up and nowhere to go...

Galeena dressed up for Halloween and not too keen about it.
